CARNATIC VOCAL – THE FLAVOUR OF SOUTH INDIA

Carnatic Vocal music is the classical music of Southern India. Balalayam provides a unique opportunity for students from across the Globe to learn Carnatic Vocal music from the convenience of their own home through their Guru’s and a tailor made curriculum that is structured and arrived at, taking into account the dreams and future aspirations of the candidate. Our Carnatic vocal training course has 4 different modules in each level. Though there is never an end for learning, we have structured the program with specific milestones so that a focused approach towards the student’s goal can be accomplished. The minimum age of the student needs to be 3 yrs to enroll into the Basic module and there is no upper limit for age. These are specially designed foundational courses. Interest in music and curiosity to discover the joy of learning are the other prerequisites.

INTERMEDIATE:

Those who have completed the beginners level or having the complete knowledge of the various topics mentioned in the beginners module are eligible to enroll into the Intermediate module. Those who have had at least 2 years of training and can sing 7 tana varnams in two speeds and 2 kritis is a basic pre-requisite for this.
